FREE Tax Preparation Assistance for Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC)

City of Lee’s Summit residents that are eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) can receive free tax preparation services on Tuesday evenings in February 2012. EITC is a refundable federal income tax credit for low-income working individuals and families.The FREE tax preparation services will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Lee’s Summit City Hall, 220 SE Green St. First come, first-served. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.

2012 Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration

Celebrate through musical and dance performances the City’s annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. event on Monday, January 16 in the Pavilion at John Knox Village, 520 NW Murray Road, Lee’s Summit. The City’s 2012 celebration will begin earlier than in previous years to accommodate all of the great performances.
