Communications Specialist - Fire Department

Minimum starting salary is $36,587 annually plus an excellent benefit package. 



The City of Lee’s Summit is now seeking qualified applicants to fill a current vacancy and establish an eligibility list for the position of Communications Specialist in the Fire Department.  This is shift work requiring the ability to multi-function in a job environment where typing, computer entry, telephone usage, and public contact can be successfully performed with speed and accuracy, and under significant stress with a focus on excellent customer service. 




Minimum education qualifications are high school diploma or certificate of equivalency.  Must be 18 years of age at time of application, have a valid state driver's license and the ability to type 40 wpm.  Knowledge and experience in  fire service communication functions, emergency medical dispatch, as well as Emergency Medical Dispatcher Certification,  Mid-American Regional Council Basic Telecommunications Certification, NIMS ICS100, ICS200,ICS700, ICS800 certifications are preferred.
