During business hours, Mid-Continent Libraries are also good cooling centers. Call United Way 2-1-1 for assistance or information about public cooling centers.

Community Blood Drive: “Be the real MVP” Monday, July 23 from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

The City of Lee’s Summit, in partnership with the Community Blood CenterDowntown Lee's Summit Main StreetLee's Summit Chamber of Commerce, and Lee's Summit Economic Development Council, will host a community blood drive on Monday, July 23 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Howard Conference Room (second floor) of Lee’s Summit City Hall, 220 SE Green St. Visit www.esavealifenow.org and enter the sponsor code “cityleessummit” to sign-up for the “Be the real MVP” event. All presenting donors will receive a pair of Royals tickets! 

Lee’s Summit Municipal Court Announces Docket Change

Effective September 1, 2018, the Lee’s Summit Municipal Division 243, 16th Judicial Circuit, Jackson County, Missouri the Honorable Dana M. Altieri presiding will move from a Wednesday general docket to a Tuesday general court docket.

City of Lee’s Summit Hires Leader for Human Resources

The City of Lee’s Summit is pleased to announce Anita Dickey has joined the City as director of human resources on Monday, July 2. In this position, Dickey will provide leadership and strategic planning in the implementation of human resources programs, functions and activities to ensure alignment with the City’s mission and goals.

Rod Handley Selected as 2018 Lee’s Summit Citizen of the Year

Lee’s Summit Mayor Bill Baird has selected Rod Handley as the 2018 Citizen of the Year for his years of service and commitment to the community teaching the importance of character, integrity and accountability. He will be honored at the Missouri Municipal League’s Civic Leadership Banquet as well as during the Truman Heartland Community Foundation’s Annual Citizen’s Reception in August and their “Toast to Our Towns” Gala in September.
