Mission Statement
The Lee’s Summit Public Works Department is dedicated to maintaining and improving the quality of the community through environmentally and economically sound infrastructure preservation and growth while providing outstanding service to our customers.
Summary
The functional responsibilities of the Public Works Department encompasses planning, designing, and construction of the City's infrastructure; managing the City's environmental programs; operation and maintenance of the City's stormwater systems, streets and traffic control network; and operation of the Resource Recovery Park and Municipal Airport.
Organizational Structure
The Public Works Department is one of the most diversified departments in the City in terms of services provided to the community comprised of an Airport Division, Engineering Division, Operations Division, and Solid Waste Division.
