2018 State of the City

Mayor Baird will deliver the City of Lee's Summit's State of the City address Monday, September 24, 2018 at 5:15 p.m. The State of the City will take place at the B&B Theatres located at 3241 SW Fascination Dr. in New Longview. The address is open to the public.

The State of the City will be streamed live on the City's Facebook page and rebroadcast on LSTV beginning Tuesday, September 25.

Community Blood Drive to Help Emergency Shortage

The City of Lee’s Summit, in partnership with the Community Blood Center, will host a community blood drive Oct. 1 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Howard Conference Room of Lee’s Summit City Hall, 220 SE Green St. The Community Blood Center is experiencing an emergency blood shortage. All blood types are needed, especially Type O. The City’s goal is to collect 45 units of blood during the event.

As the new school year begins, parents, teachers, administrators and students are feeling lucky to live in Lee’s Summit. The city offers a wide array of educational options. The Lee’s Summit R-7 School District is consistently ranked among the best school districts in the country. St. Michael the Archangel High School is entering its second school year; and The Missouri Innovation Campus is offering students exciting new opportunities that were not previously available.

Funds Available for Minor Home Repairs in Lee’s Summit

The City of Lee’s Summit is helping low- and moderate-income residents fix up their homes. The City is accepting applications Aug. 13 through Oct. 5 for its Minor Home Repair Program, which awards up to $10,000 to qualified residents for certain home repairs and up to $3,000 for private sanitary sewer improvements.

Ribbon Cutting for New T-hangars at Lee’s Summit Municipal Airport

The City of Lee’s Summit will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony Aug. 10 at 9 a.m. to celebrate the completion of two new hangars housing 28 units at the Lee’s Summit Municipal Airport. The public may park at the terminal building at 2751 NE Douglas St. and a shuttle will be provided to transport guests to the event.
