Grant Opportunities

Arts CouncilBeautification Commission | CDBG  


Lee's Summit, Missouri was designated as an Entitlement Community under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Grant funds are provided to the City on an annual basis to meet the needs of the low-to-moderate income individuals and families, to address slum or blight in Lee's Summit or to meet an urgent need.  These grant funds may vary based upon funding availability.  The City has been utilizing these federal funds to support the following programs:

Minor Home Repair

The emphasis of this program is on neighborhood conservation, and only minor exterior home repairs and minor private sanitary sewer improvements will be eligible.  This program is administered by the City's Codes Administration Department.

First Time Homebuyer

Grants under the First Time Homebuyer Program will be issued in the maximum amount of $3,000 to low-to-moderate income individuals or households who are qualified first time homebuyers to be used for up to 50% of the required down payment or reasonable closing costs or a combination of both.  The program is administered by the City's Planning & Development Department.

CDBG Grants for Other Programs

The City also provides CDBG funds on a competitive basis to support local public service programs sponsored by government or not-for-profit organizations and public facility improvements. Arts Council

The Lee's Summit Arts Council supports cultural arts and accept financial support requests between $501 and $1,000 annually.  Find out more about this grant opportunity...

Beautification Commission

The Lee’s Summit Beautification Commission provides a grant for the beautification of ten area businesses annually, based upon available funding.  Applications are available in mid-April, depending upon available funding.
