The City of Lee’s Summit is looking for past and present citizens to share their positive City-related histories. Interviews will be conducted for a documentary entitled “Lee’s Summit Reflections.”
Kathy Smith, president of the Lee’s Summit Historical Society, will be conducting the interviews. The interview topic will be agreed upon by the interviewee and Smith beforehand. Potential topics could be but are not limited to: family histories of longtime Lee’s Summit residents, stories of why newer residents chose to move to the City or to a particular neighborhood, histories of older buildings (homes, businesses, barns, etc.), the history of a longtime local business, or children’s favorite things about life in Lee’s Summit (playing with friends, their schools and teachers, their neighborhoods, etc.). If you have a specific topic in mind for your interview, please let us know!
The videos will be played during City Council meetings, on the City’s Web site, and on the City’s cable access channel. If you are interested in being interviewed, please contact the City’s Public Communications Coordinator Melissa Bedford Fears at melissa.fears@cityofls.net or (816) 969-1014.
