The City of Lee’s Summit’s Procurement and Contract Services Division has been awarded for the second time the prestigious Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award (AEP) for 2013 from the National Procurement Institute (NPI). A first-time recipient of this honor in 2011, the division was one of only two government agencies in the state of Missouri to receive this award in 2013.
“Congratulations to the staff of the City’s Procurement and Contract Services Division on this outstanding industry achievement,” said Lee’s Summit City Manager Stephen Arbo. “This award of accomplishment is a testament to the best practices standards utilized by the department as well as the caliber of highly skilled professionals charged with overseeing the City’s procurement and contract services,” said City Manager Arbo.
The AEP Award is earned by public and non-profit organizations that obtain a high application score based on standardized criteria. The judging criteria are innovation, professionalism, e-procurement, productivity, and leadership. This program encourages the development of excellence as well as continued organizational improvement to earn the award annually.
Procurement Contract Compliance Manager Barbara Poole and Senior Procurement Officer DeeDee Tschirhart accepted the award on behalf of the City at the NPI Awards Ceremony on October 7 in St. Charles, Missouri.
