Police Investigating Suspicous Activity near Local School

Lee’s Summit, Mo. – The Lee’s Summit Police Department is currently investigating a suspicious person seen this morning near Lee’s Summit Elementary, 110 SE Green Street.  Initial reports indicate that the victim, a 5th grade student, was walking to school when he was approached by a white male in a pickup truck.  The victim stated the male suspect drove next to him and attempted to start a conversation.  The suspect then ordered the child to get into the truck.  The victim was able to run to the school and the suspect and vehicle left the area.  The vehicle was described as a white, four-door or “quad cab” pickup, possibly a Dodge Ram.  The suspect was described as a white male, 28-35 years of age with brown hair and glasses, stocky build, pale complexion and deep voice.  The suspect was wearing a white t-shirt with a cartoon character on it that the victim described as being “Stewie”, a character from the television show “Family Guy”.

Anyone with information is asked to call the LSPD TIPS Hotline at 816-969-1752.  If the vehicle or suspect is spotted, please call 911 or 816-969-7390 immediately to report the information.
