City Crews Treating Streets throughout Morning

City of Lee’s Summit Public Works crews reported to work at 4 a.m. today (March 14) to treat primary and secondary streets with rock salt in preparation for rush hour traffic. Crews will continue to treat streets with rock salt throughout the morning.

According to the City’s weather service “Weather or Not,” “Periods of wet snow, generally light, will … remain possible until 10 -11 a.m. before changing to light rain. Light rain showers remain possible until 2 p.m.”

“Additional snow accumulations of around an inch are possible mainly on grassy surfaces. Roads will generally stay wet with some slushy buildup. By 10 a.m., air and pavement temperatures are expected to be above freezing, allowing the melting of slush to begin.”

For more information, call the Snow Desk, (816) 969-1870
